Corrections & Clarifications

How to report a factual error in a Blue Ocean Chartering article, and how we assess, correct and record changes.

How to report an error

Email newsroom@blueoceanchartering.com with the subject line "Correction request" and include the article URL, the exact claim you believe is inaccurate, what the correct position is, and a source we can verify it against.

What happens next

An editor compares the article against its named source and against the evidence you supply. Where the article misstates the source, we correct it. Where the source itself was wrong and has since been updated, we update our article and note the change.

Material corrections are recorded on the article with the date of the change. Minor typographical fixes are made without a note. Every change is retained in the internal version history of the article.

Removal requests

We consider removal only where an article is factually wrong and cannot be corrected, or where publication would breach a legal obligation. Disagreement with accurately reported, properly attributed information is not grounds for removal.
