Alkagesta Earns the EcoVadis Committed Badge

Alkagesta has been awarded the EcoVadis Committed Badge, an independent recognition of the company's commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices across its global trading operations.

EcoVadis is among the most widely used providers of business sustainability ratings, assessing companies across four themes: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Its methodology is evidence-based, weighing a company's policies, disclosures and transparency against internationally recognised standards. Earning the Committed Badge puts Alkagesta's practices under that same lens and gives the company a structured framework for continued improvement.

The badge sits alongside a broader environmental, social and governance agenda at Alkagesta. That includes ISCC and CORSIA certification for its sustainable aviation fuel trading activity, access to EU ETS allowances for carbon compliance, and backing for environmental research ventures such as the Clean Caspian initiative.

Orkhan Rustamov, chief executive of Alkagesta, said the recognition reflects the work under way across the business to embed responsible practices into day-to-day operations rather than treating them as a separate agenda. As a company trading commodities that sit at the heart of the global economy, he noted, operating with integrity and transparency is a serious responsibility — and the badge is a foundation to build on, with standards to keep rising across the areas EcoVadis measures.

Independent sustainability assessments have become an increasingly important signal for counterparties in commodity trading, where environmental credentials increasingly shape access to financing, carbon markets and long-term contracts. A documented rating from EcoVadis gives Alkagesta's partners a third-party reference point rather than self-reported claims alone.

Alkagesta said it views the badge as the start of an ongoing process, and will continue to strengthen its reporting and standards across the areas the assessment covers.
